An electrician fits the switch

A registered electrician installs a smart switch on each geyser’s circuit: roughly 45 minutes per unit, nothing on the geyser itself is touched. Certificate of compliance included.

Usually starting with the cold-water one.

No. This is the rule the whole system is built around. Geysers pre-heat well before check-in, and if the switch ever loses its connection, it defaults to ON. When in doubt, your guests get hot water.
Almost certainly. The smart switch is fitted on the geyser’s electrical circuit by a registered electrician; nothing on the geyser itself is touched. Standard electric element geysers, the vast majority in South Africa, are fully supported.
Yes. Every major booking platform provides a calendar link, and that link is all KhayaOS needs. No property management system, no API accounts, no developer. A plain Google Calendar works too.
We’re building for it. This is South Africa, after all. KhayaOS is designed to pre-heat ahead of scheduled outages and recover safely when power returns. Waitlist members will be the first to see it in action.
Always. The app gives you a manual override for every unit: turn any geyser on or off whenever you like, and adjust how early units pre-heat before arrivals.
